Guatemala’s president has accused Biden’s administration of refusing to let his country end the crisis at the U. S. -Mexico border and chaos in his Central American country, according to a new report.
Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei has approached Washington with a plan for the United States to expel others heading north from Guatemala before they succeed at the U. S. -Mexico border, Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Jennie Taer told an interview published Tuesday.
“Having all those other people in the U. S. it costs the U. S. government to do so. U. S. million and millions of dollars. We advise you to leave the planes here, so that we ourselves can send them back to their country of origin, be it Haiti or any other country. Giammattei said in an interview with Guatemala City. “Otherwise, why wait for other people to succeed on American soil, and then spend millions and millions of dollars and then send them back?”
In President Joe Biden’s first full 20 months in office, about four million people attempted to enter the United States illegally, beyond any other era in national history. This figure does not come with illegal immigrants who escaped arrest.
TRUMP’S ELECTION LIE COULD COST REPUBLICANS IF VOTERS STAY HOME
Those who cross the southern border of the United States cross several countries north, a dozen places, without applying for asylum. The influx of other passing people has caused unrest in Guatemala.
Guatemala only sends Honduran citizens south of its border, however, Giammattei is willing to fly or bus other people to other countries. This resolution may deter others from embarking on the adventure through Guatemala to the United States, knowing that they would be returned.
Giammattei said the United States rejected his concept of allowing Guatemala to use U. S. planes to send other people back to their home countries on the grounds that “the legislation does not allow it. “
The United States has a history of giving cars and resources to the country. Last week, the United States delivered 95 cars to Guatemala to bolster border security.
Giammattei’s management asked the U. S. to do so. The U. S. government won more monetary aid, but gained “very little” for the government to turn away illegal immigrants.
In 2022, the U. S. will be able to take advantage of the U. S. The U. S. sent $109 million in foreign aid to Guatemala, only that cash didn’t pass to the government. Instead, it went to personal, nonprofit organizations that work with immigrants in the country and even they continue in the United States. One example is the United Nations’ International Organization for Migration, whose operations in Guatemala earned $11 million last year.
The Daily Caller News Foundation recently spoke with several Afghans arrested in Guatemala. They said the UN told them to keep traveling to the United States and explained how to cross the southern border of the United States.
“They give us a map,” said one of the Afghan men. “The map to México. No there is the United States. But they said how to cross those borders.
Giammattei proved that the UN helps illegal immigration.
“And as far as IOM is concerned, they will only act when a user becomes a voluntary returnee, they will say, ‘Oh no, it doesn’t need to happen again. ‘So they just let them pass. And that’s all we can’t allow,” the Guatemalan president said.
