The consultation is, how? Let this article advise you through COVID-19 updates and protocols that feature prominently in the slow but safe reopening of tourism in the Philippines.
The pleasure of the Philippines for foreigners would possibly still be on hold, but the country’s main tropical escapes are already preparing to reopen!
The getaways included in the list of cubes, such as Palawan, Boracay and Baguio, continue to protect the tourist by applying coVID-19 protocols with the utmost care and care. In this way, you are assured that your physical condition and well-being are protected; Whether you’re in the center of a bustling city like Manila or spend your time on the tropical getaway of your dreams.
So what do avid explorers expect once the borders are reopened? Here’s how your favorite Filipino destinations are preparing for their long-awaited return!
Nicknamed the “city of pines” and the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio is for its lush strawberry farms, cool climate and relaxed mountain life.
The mountainous capital made headlines in early July for pronouncing the strict implementation of COVID-19 protocols if they chose to reopen in September. The city of Baguio intends to be proactive, as it is one of the most productive destinations, even for locals. Boracay and Siargao point to Baguio as one of the 3 most sensitive national destinations in the country, according to a survey conducted through the Philippine Ministry of Tourism (DOT).
With a view to a imaginable reopening once travel restrictions have been eased, Baguio has brought a travel regulation formula called Visitor Information and Travel Assistance (Visit). Don’t worry, though, it’s not really as confusing as it sounds! Visit allows the local government to give a warm welcome to each and every traveler seduced by the incrustive appeal of Baguio. The formula takes into account all the wishes of tourists, depending on their itineraries and the length of their stay. You can simply say that Visit is an extra layer of security; Thanks to it, visitors are guaranteed to remain free of COVID during their Baguio getaway.
Visit also benefits local citizens and the surrounding area, as it helps restrict daily tourist traffic. This means that the formula also protects the popular mountainside from overcrowding. It’s an advantage!
The sunny white sand coasts of Boracay were already ahead when they opened their doors to local tourists who lived there last June! Fortunately, the island is no stranger to the implementation of strict protocols, as it underwent a multi-month environmental rehabilitation in 2018.
That said, the same COVID-19 travel protocols implemented through the Interagency Working Group on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) apply. Even when a tighter network quarantine has been lifted, COVID-19 rules, such as dressing in a face mask and protector, common disinfection, and social estrangement, are seriously enforced. We don’t care, those social distance measures only create a more serene retreat across the sea!
The island of Boracay has also invested in medical devices essential for the control of COVID-19; those that come with RT-PCR machines and RNA extractors. Dot announced the same improvements in medical devices for Davao, a main access point and a tourist gateway to mindanao’s islands organization.
Another tropical getaway famous for its sumptuous accommodations, diversity, clear waters and limestone cliffs, Palawan attracts tourists with its famous islets in Coron and El Nido.
DOT has partnered with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to launch the flagship program, Transforming Communities into Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Destinations (TouRIST). Through TouRIST, DOT aims to repair tourist sites to their former appearance and provide “technical assistance for emergency fitness services” in El Nido and Coron.
DOT and AfDB’s TouRIST program also strengthens hygiene readiness in Siargao, the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, and Bohol, home to Filipino tarsiers and iconic Chocolate Hills. Isn’t that (word game!)?
You deserve to know that those COVID-19 travel updates also apply to the rest of the archipelago, adding underrated gems! Tourism protocols in the Philippines are basically a rigorous accreditation process. The actors of the country’s hotel and tourism industry adhere to coVID-19 foreign hygiene and protection preparation criteria to protect travelers and ensure their protection during their stay.
Did you know that establishments can operate according to the “new standard” when they obtain DOT accreditation? Now, travelers can rest knowing that the following tourist and hospitality spaces are well maintained in the Philippines.
The welcoming nature and hospitality of the locals have been the strengths of the Philippines. Filipinos are proud of this, and the same heat continues even when strict COVID-19 travel protocols are implemented in hotels and diverse accommodations. Expect the following when staying in a accommodation during the “new standard”:
Tip: You can also check the Greeting of Mabuhay’s signage mail! Simply place the palm of your hand in the middle of your chest and sit gently with your head in the direction of the user you are talking to. He’s helping to smile. Your mask can cover the maximum of your face, but satisfied eyes will brighten someone’s day!
Food reports are an integral component of any epic adventure, and the Philippines has covered it too! When eating in a status quo in Manila and beyond, expect the following:
This is proof that the Philippines is slowly preparing for its arrival. Please note that for now, its 7,000 islands and more are only open to local residents. The country’s dream destinations are eager to welcome visitors with open arms! Until then, think of sunny paradises and exclusive cultural reports, and #WakeUpInPH.
Do not do your part as a guilty traveler when the adventure returns to the door; Stay home to travel tomorrow, stay away and practice impeccable intimate hygiene!

In Russia, Aliocha is the call of a child popularized through the wonderful literary Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy; however, this particular Aliocha is neither Russian nor a child. She is a Filipino who likes to explore the world as much as she likes to stay at home. The project of his life is to caress all the friendly creatures that exist. When she’s not busy doing that, she smells stories and scribbles on the back of old receipts. It defends many things: culture and heritage, the environment, skin care and snacking, to name a few. He’ll paint lifelong materials of fries and coffee. Or yogurt. Or cheese, preferably Brie.
