Government can vaccinate Covid-19 for 20 million Filipinos – Dominguez

He can fund vaccination of the 20 million poorest Filipinos of poor Filipinos opposed to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), according to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd.

In a recorded assembly of the Interagency Working Group published friday, Dominguez said the Ministry of Health (DoH) estimated that the government supplies loose vaccines to the country’s 20 million poorest people.

Estimates from the Department of Health also showed that the vaccine would charge $10 according to the dose. In two doses consistent with the injection for 20 million Filipinos, they are expected to spend about $400 billion or 20 billion pesos, he said.

For example, the CFO was confident that he had developed a plan on how to finance the purchase of the vaccine.

“Funding will be available for this programArray. Our plan is to use Philippine International Trading Corp. (PITC), which informs the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) to purchase the vaccine once it is decided through the Department of HealthArray..” He said.

In a message also from Viber on Friday, Dominguez said government monetary establishments such as Philippine Land Bank and Philippine Development Bank (BPD) would allocate a forward loan to PITC to allow him to buy the vaccines.

“PITC will sell the vaccines to the DoH. The DoH will pay PITC over time in its long-term allocations of the national budget,” he added.
