Government advises states on 5-pronged strategy to fight Covid-19 as cases rise

The Department of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Thursday urged all states to continue with the 5-pronged Covid Test-Track-Treatment-Vaccination and Appropriate Behavior strategy to fight Covid-19.

The notification read: “We will do a mock training to see the preparedness for COVID-19. Simulated training will soon be conducted in all states/UTs.

According to the notification issued through the Ministry of Health, more than 220. 65 million total doses of vaccines have been administered in the country.

“There has been no evidence of an increase in hospitalizations. The doses of caution deserve to be increased. Enhanced surveillance and laboratory testing of all cases of severe acute respiratory disease (SARI) deserve to be carried out,” he said.

The ministry also called on states to ensure the availability of influenza and covid-19 medicines and logistics in gyms. Apart from this, states were asked to ensure the availability of sufficient designated beds and fitness workers.
