Google Trends shows that pre-cooked foods have dominated COVID-19 diets

After learning the news that the costume season would be postponed (or canceled) for many this year, other people left salads and prepared cookie dough, based on a year-over-year comparison of major food search terms through Google Trends.

Google Trends data show that interest in “cookies”, “ice creams” and “burgers” during an era from March 11, 2020 to August 20, 2020 was higher than in the same era in 2019. and ‘vegetables’ in 2020 have fallen less than at the same time in 2019.

Unsurprisingly, the interest of studies in “sports pavilions” has declined considerably, receiving only about 10% of the interest of studies in 2019. La majority of gyms and fitness facilities were temporarily closed or suspended by the pandemic.

Google’s knowledge research is consistent with trends in food sales during the pandemic. Sales of some prepared foods, adding pizzas, hot dogs and other processed snacks, shot the pandemic.

The ice cream chain, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, recorded a 20% increase in same store sales in the past 3 months, while Wingstop recorded a 32% expansion in the same sales stores this quarter.

I’ll follow the diets at Google Trends as the news of a vaccine approaches.
