Google Awards Additional $1. 5 Million Grant to Search for Classified Ads for Continuation of COVID-19 Data Campaign

Google, through its philanthropic arm Google. org, offers an additional $1. 5 million in classified ad search grant to Philippine government agencies to provide Filipinos with reliable and enforceable data on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Connecting Filipinos with reliable data on COVID-19 remains a very sensible precedent at Google. We hope that through the additional search ads grant, we can help the government spread vital messages online, adding public service announcements, to help keep other friends and informed amid the ongoing pandemic,” said Bernadette Nacario, national director of Google Philippines.

From the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 to January 2022, Google’s ad grants have supported more than 107 million COVID-19-related public service announcements in the Philippines. The grants also generated more than 11 million visits to licensed fitness centers locally. .

“Access to credible data remains a very important component of our efforts to remain Filipinos as we continue our fight against the pandemic. We thank Google for being our unwavering component in helping us get reliable data, succeed in more people, and combat bad data. about vaccines online,” said Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho, director of the Ministry of Health’s Office of Health Promotion.

“Access to reliable data plays a role in guiding small businesses and marketers toward economic recovery. The search ads grant will allow us to achieve this purpose and we thank Google for being our partner not only in connecting Filipinos with data, but also with the opportunities of the developing virtual economy,” said Mary Jean Pacheco, Under Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Industry.
