(Reuters) – Swede Sebastian Soderberg withdrew from the forward circular of the Irish Open after being informed of a touch that then tested positive for COVID-19, announced the European tour on Friday.
Soderberg, ranked 176 in the world, had played Thursday for the first time at Galgorm Castle Golf Club before being informed of the contact.
The 30-year-old tested negative for the new coronavirus in Northern Ireland, but withdrew from the tournament as a precautionary measure.
“According to public fitness guidelines, Sebastian will be isolated for a total of 14 days and will be supported throughout this era through the European Tour’s medical and event staff,” the tour said at https://www. europeanexcursion. com/European Tour/News/Articles/Detail/Statement-de-Tour-European-on-Sebastian-soderberg.
