Glastonbury Music Festival cancels anniversary due to coronavirus

Britain’s best-known music festival has been held regularly on a country farm in the South West of England since 1970.  At least 135,000 tickets for the 50th anniversary festival went on sale in October and reportedly sold out in 34 minutes.

“We can no longer spend the next three months with thousands of teams here on the farm, helping us with the massive construction work, infrastructure and attractions needed to accommodate more than 200,000 people in a transition from the city to those camps,” he said. “We apologise to the other 135,000 people who have already paid a deposit,” Glastonbury organisers said at aArray, adding that they expected the situation to improve until the end of June, the date of the festival.
