Germany has decided to impose increased security in the autumn and winter seasons. The news comes after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s cabinet approved measures to impose strict rules on people, as it is in those months that cases are expected to rise.
Under the new rule, visitors and others must wear an N-95 mask when traveling long distances by bus, exercise or plane. They must wear a mask on local public transportation. Fifth-grade seniors are also required to wear a mask. Wearing a mask is also mandatory at public gatherings.
In addition to making the use of masks mandatory when traveling for long periods of time, other measures will be implemented soon. These include mandatory mask-wearing when entering hospitals, nursing homes, and other establishments that provide medical assistance to people. The new regulations will be implemented from October 1 this year until April 7.
16 German Länder will have the strength to create and enforce their own rules. This will depend on the state of the spaces and the severity of the effects of the coronavirus. If the virus spreads widely and despite various efforts, fails to engage in Doing so, we can expect an increase in testing and a relief in the number of people participating in public gatherings.
However, the Minister of Justice has made it clear that there will be no more lockdowns or school closures despite the cold seasons.
According to media reports, the new rules have yet to gain approval from the lower and upper houses of the German parliament.
