Germany: Dozens of coronavirus protest measures in Berlin

Dozens of demonstrators were amassed on Tuesday by a new protest opposed to anti-coronavirus measures in Berlin. There have been demonstrations in the Victory Column for several days in a row.

Protesters were noted to meet with makeshift devices of social estrangement, while police deployed to install fences in the area.

One protester criticized the government’s reaction to the pandemic and warned that concern was spreading.

“Is this what we need our youth to learn? That they will have to fear others, that they will have to stay away?Because they think there’s something. There can’t be other people who are afraid to move on to the police or go to the hospital or they can no longer accept how true they are with their passes,” he said.

Last Saturday, nearly 38,000 protesters took part in a demonstration against COVID in the German capital, where at least three hundred other people were arrested.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced in March a series of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus. The measures have gradually calmed down across the country, but in recent weeks the number of new infections has increased considerably.
