German man arrested after allegedly forming armed group opposing COVID measures

The 39-year-old, whose call has not been released, had recently been living in Bavaria and was charged in June, according to the Koblenz prosecutor’s office. He is accused, along with two others, of forming a criminal organization and an armed organization called “Paladin” in early 2021, which prosecutors say were aimed at acting against measures taken against the coronavirus.

Prosecutors say there is no evidence of an attack plan through the group.

The suspect is accused of producing weapon parts with a 3D printer and holding training sessions with the group’s other members, but no evidence has emerged of plans for any attack, prosecutors said in a statement.
