BERLIN, Jan 19 (Reuters) – Germany is not the sick man of Europe, but a tired man in need of a “cup of coffee” of structural reforms, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said on Friday.
“Germany is not a man in poor health,” he said in a debate at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Lindner said Germany is “a tired man” after the last few years of crisis, and that its low expectations for expansion were likely a red flag. What Germany wants now is a “good cup of coffee, which calls for structural reforms,” he said. (Reporting by Maria Martinez, Editing by Leslie Adler)
