Russia is tasked with expanding the functions of the Ukrainian military, adding offensive. In fact, for this, the occupiers are shaking along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
With provocations, the Russians disperse Ukrainian forces. They have a component of their forces and in Belarus, they actively force the Lukashenka regime to conduct training of their own army, they organize an assembly on the territory of Belarus. Serhiy Kryvonos, general of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this exclusively on Channel 24.
Therefore, the Ukrainian side is obliged to react and conserve resources along the border with Belarus. This is because there are about 1-2 brigades. Many more forces are involved, which, of course, would be more necessary in eastern and southern Ukraine.
This suggests that the enemy obviously also understands the strategy and procedure for waging this war and provokes, creating a risk of offensive on the territory of the Volhynia and Chernihiv regions. It is not reacting to avoid the same mistakes as in February, when the enemy arrived very temporarily on the outskirts of Kyiv.
“We have to maintain forces and means along the border with Belarus, and it is not small, it is 1,084 kilometers,” Kryvonos said.
Although there is an opinion that neither Belarus nor Russia have enough resources to open front, they can fix it temporarily.
The general explained that for the past 15 years, the Russians have conducted strategic training along ukraine’s borders every year, and the first thing they have practiced during those trainings is team movement and hard work.
“They have reached maximum competition in this area, they can temporarily move more than one or two thousand people to the right distance, starting from the Far East and ending on the territory of Belarus,” he says.
So just because they don’t have resources today doesn’t mean they probably won’t have them tomorrow. To move forces, the Russians do not need 2 or 3 weeks, but a few days. It should also be noted that the logistics warehouses have already been ready on the territory of Belarus, the Russian Air Force uses local airfields, and the invaders still have a sufficient source of army transport aircraft capable of moving aircraft and personnel.
“Therefore, the enemy should not be underestimated. We will obviously have to see that there is a threat, and if there is, we will have to react. Whether or not there is an offensive is another question,” Kryvonos said.
He added that if the enemy sees that we are actively creating a strong defense along the entire border, possibly abandon the offensive. But the Russians and the Belarusians will provoke, and you have to be prepared for that.
