GEORGIA – Georgia set a new record Tuesday by recording its coronavirus deaths in a single day with 125 new deaths, the Department of Public Health reported.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that a total of 222588 showed instances of COVID-19 at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday. That’s 3,563 more than was reported at the same time on Monday.
Georgia has also reported 4351 deaths for COVID-19, 125 more than reported on Monday. In addition, the state reported 21,031 hospitalizations, 355 more than the previous day, and 3,832 overall revenues to extensive care units.
No data are available in Georgia on the number of patients cured.
That comes after Gov. Brian Kemp announced that a new COVID-19 megatest opened Monday near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The number of coronavirus cases in Georgia continues to increase as the state refers academics in some districts to face-to-face courses. The in-person school at North Paulding High School in Dallas canceled Monday and Tuesday after six students and 3 staff tested positive for coronavirus after the first week of school. This came after the school made headlines for photographs of academics shared on social media that appeared to constitute crowded corridors.
The school must be “thoroughly cleaned and disinfected” while students and staff would be outdoors on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Counties within or near the Atlanta metropolitan domain continue to have the number of positive verification results, and Fulton County remains the most sensitive in the state.
Counties within or near the Atlanta Metro also continue to have maximum deaths due to COVID-19. The only exception is Dougherty County, Georgia’s first primary outbreak.

Worldwide, more than 20 million other people have become inflamed with coronavirus and more than 738,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Tuesday.
In the United States, more than 5.1 million other people were inflamed and more than 164,300 people died from COVID-19 on Tuesday. The United States has only about 4% of the world’s population, yet they showed more cases and deaths than any other country.
