GA Coronavirus: About 2K new cases, 60 deaths reported Wednesday

ATLANTA, GA – The Georgia Department of Public Health reported a total of 287,287 cases of COVID-19 at 2:50 p. m. Wednesday According to the Department of Health website, these 2,081 new cases showed cases in the last 24 hours.

Georgia has also reported 6,128 deaths to date after COVID-19, with 60 more deaths recorded in the following 24 hours. In addition, the state reported 25,845 hospitalizations, 256 more than the day after, and 4,736 admissions to extended care sets so far.

Due to reporting delays, coronavirus numbers reported just after the weekend are decreasing and do not necessarily reflect general trends. They regularly pick up a day or two later and are still a bit higher because reports are catching up on the backlog.

No data are available in Georgia on the number of patients cured.

Counties in or near the Atlanta metro continue to have the number of positives, with Fulton County still leading the way. Additionally, Cobb County surpassed 18,000 cases showing COVID-19 for the first time on Wednesday.

Counties in or near the Atlanta subway also continue to have the highest number of COVID-19 deaths. The only exception is Dougherty County, Georgia’s first primary outbreak.

On Wednesday, Georgia administered more than 2. 8 million COVID-19 tests, and about 10. 2% of those tests were the least used to find antibodies.

For maximum reliable control of the virus itself, 10. 4% of the controls were positive. For the less reliable antibody check, 7. 9% were positive. The overall positive rate of about 10. 1%.

While more and more Georgians have been screened over the following month, the percentage of positive controls has increased slightly, from about 8% to over 10%. However, in recent weeks, the percentage of positives has stabilized at just over 10% and is now slowly starting to decline. According to the World Health Organization, positive control effects do not exceed 5% for two weeks before reopening as usual. Georgia largely reopened in April and May, and since then Gov. Brian Kemp has encouraged the use of face masks, but has adamantly refused to require them.

All Georgia statistics can be obtained on the state’s COVID-19 website.

Worldwide, more than 27. 6 million people tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 898,000 people died, Johns Hopkins University reported Wednesday.
