French COVID instances set a new record at nearly 27,000

PARIS – The number of new coronavirus infections in France increased to more than 26,000 in a day for the first time since the outbreak began, showed Saturday the knowledge of the ministry of fitness.

The ministry reported 26,896 new infections, bringing the cumulative total to 718,873 since the beginning of the year. The number of deaths from the virus increased from 54 to 32,684 (report via John Irish and Gwenaelle Barzic; editing via Andrew Cawthorne).
