The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and CIC Health announced today that the couple will launch the opening of their loose Covid-19 testing and vaccination site at Lena Park Community Development Corporation with the third annual turkey contest. Turkeys will be provided through TEAM New England and are limited to one consistent with the family for the duration of the materials. The site, located at 150 American Legion Hwy, Dorchester, MA, will open Nov. 20 from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. , where BPHC and CIC Health will continue to meet to identify more issues for testing and vaccinations.
As demand for COVID-19 and flu vaccines increases and Boston prepares for outbreaks in the coming months, CIC Health continues to expand access issues for communities to access testing and vaccination services, specifically in spaces that have been disproportionately affected. The pandemic BPHC and CIC Health have partnered to establish testing and vaccination sites at White Stadium and the historic Bolling C City Building to address demanding public fitness situations ahead of fall and winter.
“Our continued partnership with BPHC to establish screening and vaccination clinics is very important as we approach the colder months and expect Covid and flu outbreaks,” said CIC Health co-founder and CEO Tim Rowe. “Ensuring the accessibility of those sites is a priority and a critical detail for us in addressing health care disparities. We do not require appointments, identification or insurance on our sites to make it a truly available and welcoming position for everyone. Our purpose is to keep our communities safe, and removing barriers to accessing critical resources is one way to do that.
PCR tests and all Covid-19 vaccines and brands, adding bivalent boosters (omicron), as well as flu shots, adding a high-dose vaccine for others 65 years of age and older, can be obtained at the Lena Park site without an appointment. The clinic will be open to anyone over 6 months of age, adding asymptomatic people, on Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 a. m. M. a 5:00 p. m. , Wednesday, 1:00 p. m. M. at 7:00 p. m. and Sundays from 10:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. to accommodate patient work, school, and childcare schedules. BPHC contracted CIC Health and Cataldo Ambulance for the preparation and management of loose Covid-19 and influenza vaccines, as well as testing services.
Lena Park’s vaccination and testing site is available via cars and public transportation. Street parking is located along Franklin Hill or Austin Street. On bus 14.
