France sees ‘exponential’ accumulation in coronavirus cases

France said Friday that there had been an “exponential” buildup of coronavirus cases with more than 7,000 new infections in 24 hours.

“The expansion momentum of the epidemic is exponential,” said French fitness management, adding that there were 7,379 new infections in the city, 6,111 on Thursday and 5,429 on Wednesday.

This is the highest number recorded since the extent of the tests in France. The 4000 mark crossed a few days ago and the number of infections has continued to increase.

Management said 4,535 other people had been hospitalized on Friday, the same amount as the previous day, of which 387 were in serious condition.

The new coronavirus has so far claimed 30596 lives in France. Masks have been made mandatory outdoors in Paris to fight infections.
