PARIS (Reuters) – France reported on Sunday 4897 new coronavirus infections in more than 24 hours, the highest point since a two-month blockade ended in May.
Health Minister Olivier Veran warned earlier that the scenario was complicated and said infections occurred most often in people 20 to 40 at parties.
Cases among the elderly were also beginning to increase, Veran said, though he ruled the total blockade in France.
However, Sunday’s Ministry of Health figures showed that the number of other hospitalized people had decreased from two to 4,709 compared to the previous day.Three other people were registered in intensive care, bringing the total to 383.
The total number of coronavirus deaths has increased through one in the last 24 hours to 30513.The country recorded a total of 242,899 infections.
