France reports nearly 5,000 new cases of coronavirus, below last week’s peaks

PARIS – The French Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday 4982 new cases of coronavirus, up from the 3,082 reported on Monday, but below the highs of almost 7400 noticed last week.

The number of other people who died from COVID-19 infections increased from 26 to 30,661, and the cumulative number of cases is now 286,007 (Report through Geert De Clercq edited through Gareth Jones).
