France reports more than 12,000 new coronavirus infections

PARIS (Reuters) – France’s Ministry of Fitness reported on Friday 12,148 new cases of coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, up from 13,970 on Thursday and well below last week’s highs of more than 16,000.

The total number of infections since the onset of the epidemic has increased to 589,653.

France also reported 136 new coronavirus deaths for a cumulative total of 32,155, the 136 deaths totaling 88 in a nursing home, a category that had not been updated for two days.
