France reports 4586 new COVID-19 infections in 24 hours

PARIS (Reuters) – France’s Ministry of Fitness reported 4,586 new coronavirus infections on Friday within 24 hours of the country being closed the day before.

The ministry said total coronavirus deaths in the country rose to 23 in the last 24 hours to 30,503.

The number of patients in the extensive care sets was reduced from 1 to 379, the ministry also said.

The total number of cases of infection increased to 234,400 in France.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed thursday to further coordinate restrictions related to coronavirus.
