Monday marks the fourth anniversary of the confirmation of the first coronavirus case in Japan. The country continues to face demanding situations similar to infection prevention and sequelae management.
Statistics show that 95,830 people in Japan died of COVID-19 between the confirmation of the first case on January 15, 2020, and last August.
The government has slashed its money for patients and medical services since it reduced the legal standing of the virus to category five (the same organization as seasonal flu) last May.
The virus continues to mutate and a subvariant of Omicron, “JN. 1,” is spreading internationally. The World Health Organization is monitoring the situation.
Medical services in Japan have raised concerns about the aftermath of the coronavirus: fatigue.
