Santiago, Chile and Diriyah in Saudi Arabia will host doubles to begin the 2020/21 Formula E season as the all-electric racing championship prepares to expand an updated racing schedule.
Rounds one and two will take place in Santiago on January 16 and 17, with consecutive races marking the start of the first season of the series as an FIA-accredited world championship.
The Saudi city of Diriyah will host the next two rounds on February 26 and 27, following the Formula E occasions over the next two years.
According to a Formula E statement, while Santiago’s races will take place behind closed doors, championship organizers and local government hope to host Saudi events with spectators on site.
Races in Mexico City and the Chinese port city of Sanya, which will take place in February and March respectively, have been postponed until later in the year due to uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.
Formula E organizers say they are focusing on competing in as many of our foreign host cities as you can imagine, assembling as much as you can imagine in the last scheduled program.
However, the championship is adopting a cautious technique for next year’s calendar and will check its updated racing schedule, and the next set will be shown in early 2021.
