RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Hotels in Argentina and Uruguay have reportedly turned down reservations for Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters over accusations of anti-Semitism against the British singer over his pro-Palestinian views.
Waters had planned to stay in Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital, ahead of concerts scheduled for Nov. 21 and 22 as part of his “This is Not a Drill” tour, but reservations fell through and hotels reported a lack of availability, the Argentine said. Page 12 reported.

Hotels in Montevideo, neighboring Uruguay, also refused to host him, but gave a reason, according to a Página 12 article on Wednesday quoted Waters as saying.
The singer said that, as a result, he is still in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he directed a few days ago.
“I had dinner on the 16th with José Mujica, the former president of Uruguay, who is a friend of mine. And I can’t get through . . . because the foyer of Israel and I’ve been called,” Waters told Página 12.
The president of Uruguay’s Jewish Central Committee, Roby Schindler, sent a letter to the Sofitel hotel urging it to take Waters in, reported Página 12.
Waters “takes advantage of his fame as an artist to lie and vomit his hatred of Israel and all Jews,” Schindler said, according to Página 12. “By receiving it, you will spread, even if it is not necessary, the hatred that this man oozes,” Schindler added.
Waters has been dogged by accusations of anti-Semitism for years, adding complaints from the U. S. government this year. The State Department said Waters had “a long history of anti-Semitic tropes to denigrate the Jewish people. “
In statements to Página 12, he flatly denied it. ” They do it because I’m a human rights expert and I talk blatantly about the genocide of the Palestinian people,” Waters said.
In a recent interview with journalist Glenn Greenwald, Waters said that the wonderful attack by Hamas militants in Israel on October 7 “was exaggerated by the fact that the Israelis made up stories about the beheading of babies. “
