SOCORRO COUNTY, N. M. (KVIA) — The famous Trinity site, where the atomic bomb was last tested on July 16, 1945, will host a free, unreserved open space on Saturday. This follows the recent release of the movie “Oppenheimer. “
Due to the film’s release in July, U. S. military officials said they expected a larger crowd than usual. Visitors would possibly have to wait up to two hours to access the site. Officials have said that if you’re not among the first 5,000 visitors, you may not be able to walk through the gate until it closes at 2 p. m.
It will be open to the public from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m.
Officials said that after Saturday, the next time the public would be allowed in would be April 6.
