Florida citizens will no longer be fined for not wearing masks, and COVID-19 restrictions on all state businesses, in addition to restaurants and bars, have risen to the state economy, according to Governor Ron DeSantis.
“Every company has the right to operate,” DeSantis said at a press conference on Friday. “Some citizens may pass moderate regulations. But you can’t just say no. “
Local governments can impose their own restrictions as long as they do not restrict the number of posts in stalls to eat to less than 50% occupancy. Local officials must justify restrictions restricting the occupation of eating posts to less than one hundred percent of their capacity.
Florida registered approximately 2,000 new instances of COVID-19 on Sunday and the total number of instances in the state exceeds 700,000.
In addition to infections, at least 14,037 people died from the virus, according to the state’s fitness department.
A report published Monday through the state fitness branch found that the state’s positivity rate oscillated between 5. 33% and 7. 54% over the more than two weeks, which is above the threshold according to fitness experts.
A maximum positivity rate would possibly be a sign that a state is evaluating only its sickest patients and fails to launch a network wide enough to capture network transmission, as it should be, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The World Health Organization recommends that governments discharge their positivity verification threshold below 5%.
Despite fluctuations in the state’s positivity rate, DeSantis Florida plans to host “a full Super Bowl” in Tampa in February.
