COVID-19 deaths in Kansas have now surpassed 5,000, and Kansas flags have been reduced to the part in his honor until sunset on Sunday, May 9.
Governor Laura Kelly said the gesture honors the lives and memories of the other people in 5016 Kansas who died as a result of COVID-19.
“We cannot be insensitive to the importance of this issue,” Governor Kelly said. “We have lost 5,000 mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, and enjoyed our relatives and neighbors as a result of deaths from the virus.
“The most productive way to honor your memories is to get vaccinated and continue to practice the proper fitness protocol we know for our COVID-19 risk communities,” Gov. Kelly said.

Monoclonal antibodies should be obtained at the infusion clinic and also in the emergency department. There’s a formula in the position of who gets them. antibodies, he said, and because the materials are now larger, monoclonal antibodies are more available than last year.
“If you haven’t been vaccinated and get sick, get tested because those antibodies work,” Dr. Stites said.
