Five other people who were inside a structure elevator that fell 20 meters before crashing to the ground in Sweden have died, authorities said.
In the past, authorities had only reported that the occupants had been seriously injured in the elevator accident in Sundbyberg, a suburb north of the capital, Stockholm.
The cause of the twist of fate is still unclear and paintings at the site have stopped.
Gunnar Jonasson, the lead prosecutor in charge, said an initial investigation is underway, through the National Accident Commission, into suspected “breaches of the racing environment that led to the deaths of other people. “
“This is an incident that we are investigating lately,” he said.

He added that the authorities are working to identify the victims and contact their relatives.
His brief statement gave no further details.
A spokesperson for the elevator manufacturer told the Aftonbladet newspaper on Monday that this type of elevator has been used around the world for more than 20 years and that the company has never been concerned about such an incident before.
