At the behest of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the Prosecutor’s Office of the United Arab Emirates (PP) clarified this Saturday, in a message on its social media accounts, the sanction for the creation or control of a human trafficking website.

The PP of the United Arab Emirates presses that, in accordance with Article 32 of the Federal Decree-Law of 2021 on the Fight against Cybercrime and Rumors, anyone who creates, manages or supervises an online page or publishes data on a data network or means of data generation for trafficking in human beings or the human organs industry or its illegitimate trafficking, shall be sentenced to temporary imprisonment and/or a fine of a pecuniary penalty of not less than Dh500,000 and not more than Dh1 million.

This position is one of the prosecution’s ongoing efforts to promote legal education among network members and raise awareness of the country’s latest legislation.
