Finance Minister calls for “deepening” Arab economic partnerships

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait called for “deepening” Arab economic partnerships and achieving integration among Arab states to triumph over existing global challenges, adding the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Maait made the remarks at its assembly in Oman’s capital on Friday, November 25, 2022 with Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) board chairman Mohammed Mahfoudh Al Ardhi.

Minister Maait said Egypt promises investment opportunities in other sectors, especially in regards to green transition projects.

Maait added that Egypt’s economy has become more resilient to external shocks, thanks to gains from the economic reform program that has helped the country take proactive measures in various economic sectors, while expanding social coverage systems for neediest families affected by the ongoing wave of inflation. .

The minister said Egypt hopes to expand Omani investment in the country and increase the volume of bilateral trade, especially in light of the strong ties between the two countries.

For his part, the chairman of the Muscat Stock Exchange said that Omani investors are interested in participating in Egyptian progression projects and said that strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and exchange of experiences with Egypt and Arab states has become more pressing to deal with existing global crises that have taken their toll on countries.
