As campaigns for the upcoming gubernatorial elections in the states of Edo and Ondo intensify, the federal government issued a warning note to political actors and their supporters about the desire to adhere to COVID-19 protocols.
Federation government secretary (SGF), Boss Mustapha, who assumed the government’s position in the Presidential Working Group (PTF) briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, also revealed that the next soft closure would be announced on the Thursday following President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of the sixth interim report to be submitted through the execution group.
The campaigns for the governors of Edo and Ondo, to be held on 19 September and 10 October respectively, have already begun at the same time as the COVID-19 directives, adding social estrangement, mask and handwashing, which have been widely observed in violation. of maximum political talks.
But in reaction to considerations of the electoral procedure so far, Boss Mustapha, chairman of the PTF, said the ongoing organization and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were recently concluding discussions on the appropriate rules and protocols to follow for the next election.
He said: “The national reaction will continue to advise the adoption of industry-specific consulting lines and protocols, as well as TFP is recently concluding discussions with the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) on appropriate consulting lines for elections beginning on 8 August. -Elections in the state of Nasarawa will be followed through those of the states of Edo and Ondo in September and October respectively.
The chairman of PTF said: “For our compatriots who still have skepticism about the lifestyles and risks posed by the virus, we urge them to imbue for a replacement in behavior in compliance with the prescribed non-pharmaceutical measures.”
“This call remains in your own interest and that of those you enjoy. Remember, wear your mask, practice social distance, avoid giant meetings, and maintain smart hygiene.”
Noting that the donation reflected Nigeria’s prestige as a ECOWAS CHAMPION for COVID-19’s participation in the West African subregion, Mustapha added that President Buhari’s leadership in the regional effort to engage the virus would have more effect if Nigerians demonstrated that their national reaction can simply be reproducible in other West African countries by converting their behavior.
“The reopening of the sector is also a source of fear that the school’s formula remains a genuine floor to expand the network’s transmission if the right protocols are not put in place and above all respected,” Mustapha added.
“TFPs would also like to thank our devoted leaders for leading threat communication efforts. We would urge you to give in because the partnership we have formed will go a long way to making sure that we win from rural spaces to urban centres. . “
In the meantime, the PTF will present its sixth interim report to President Muhammadu Buhari and, subject to its approval, the report will be presented with the future for Nigerians at the next briefing on Thursday, 6 August 2020.
They warned that the fact that the PDP’s National Labour Committee (NWC) and other party leaders did not close ranks and their standard-bearer in the October 10 election would do the party no favor and threaten to ruin its chances of winning the election.
He noted: “We have received the wisdom that some party leaders are dissatisfied with Mr. Jegede’s victory over Ajayi’s defeat in the PDP government primaries and are beginning to show tacit help for Ajayi to leave the party as he takes flight. Mr. Jegede who obviously won in a transparent process.” We are fully aware that unfortunate leaders recognize Mr. Jegede as a follower of the political ideology defended through former vice president and PPD candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Abagi cited the recent Akeredolu scale at Tinubu in Lagos to introduce his running mate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and noted that Tinubu thought of him as a former political antagonist of Akeredolu.
This was revealed by a signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Committee on Voter Information and Education, Festus Okoye.
INEC reacted to the allegations through an applicant who accused the commission of replacing his call as a valid candidate for governor of the party, while some other contender also claimed that the commission had replaced its candidate as deputy governor.
INEC said: “The names uploaded to the portal through the political parties were the same as those published. The Commission receives the names of applicants only from the national headquarters of political parties, duly signed by the national president and the national secretary.
Minister of State for Education Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba did so in a virtual assembly with the 36 State Commissioners of Education yesterday.
Nwajiuba, who said the permanent secretary of the ministry, Sonny Echono, and his administrators would register him on the evaluation tour, noted that the Unit’s 104 schools are in a position to open their doors to leave the categories tomorrow.
The ministry’s press and public relations director, Ben Bem Goong, said the minister also congratulated the Unit’s school administrators on the full readiness of the recovery position.
The text reads in part: “In all states, the honorable commissioners have reported varying degrees of preparation and readiness for the reopening between August 4 and 10, 2020 for virtually all schools in their jurisdiction.
“As of today, the Honorable Minister of State of Education, the Permanent Secretary and Principals will take a tour of all Unity Colleges to determine and verify the reports they have obtained from Unity College principals.
“Similarly, the federal assurance of the quality of education implemented in states is tasked with tracking compliance in their respective states.
“The honorable commissioners of the states have been invited to adopt rounds in their jurisdictions to determine the point of readiness for reopening.”
Meanwhile, some high schools in the capital showed a higher point of compliance, as most schools presented evidence of mandatory provisions to ensure the protection of students.
The head of the government’s high school, Lugbe, Abuja, Ms. Grace Adaji, said the school had received all the equipment requested through the Federal Ministry of Education.
She said: “Students have to pass house (today), that is, the 4 and that’s why you see us putting order, you can see the buckets of water and so on.
“We have everything we want in the rules we have been given. We have soap, water, you can see the container and we have our thermometer.”
The minister, who said so at the Presidential Bureau of Briefing on COVID-19 yesterday, said: “Rumors, insinuations and hypotheses have emerged in recent days around one of our key interventions; the home feeding program, which has been amended and implemented in three states following a presidential directive on March 29.
“The ministry, pursuant to the Presidential Directive, initiated consultations with state governments through the State Governors Forum, after which the decision was made that takeaway rations remained the ultimate viable option for feeding young people in the lockdown.
The minister, who said this at the presidential working group (TFP) briefing on COVID19 in Abuja, said: “Our purpose is to reduce the number of fatal cases to less than 1% of the current 2%.
He said: “We will work with state governments to prepare the area and human resources needed in general hospitals or SSPs, to receive training in the installation of at least one pattern collection site at LGA in a timely manner, with effective pattern recovery logistics. to deliver lab patterns.
“For patients with clinical symptoms, we also plan the designation of waiting rooms in general hospitals, with oxygen supply facilities such as oxygen concentrators or oxygen cylinders.
The child’s intelligent organization, on a day yesterday, under pressure from a desire to take more powerful measures to help exclusive breastfeeding, as Nigeria joins the world in celebrating this year’s World Breastfeeding Week, with the theme: “Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet.”
The call came when UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO), in a joint statement, suggested that governments seek cutting-edge responses and publicitate women’s access to breastfeeding counseling, an essential component of breastfeeding support.
According to the press release, breast milk saves children’s lives by providing antibodies that give a healthy touch to young children and diseases of many years of training. While researchers continue to control breast milk from mothers who showed or suspected COVID-19, existing evidence indicates that COVID-19 is unlikely to be transmitted through breastfeeding.
“The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as maximum emergencies, leaves families with young children in an incredibly vulnerable position. Given the lack of evidence that transmission of the virus can simply occur through breast milk, we propose that mothers be encouraged to start and continue breastfeeding their young children while following smart hygiene practices,” said UNICEF Representative in Nigeria Peter Hawkins.
UNICEF and WHO proposed that young children be fed only breast milk for the first six months, after which they deserve to continue breastfeeding and eating other nutritious foods until age two or older.
The organization called on the relevant agencies to strictly enforce the National Regulations on the Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and the applicable resolutions of the World Health Assembly (WHA) by terminating the poor marketing of breast milk substitutes.
