FG approves vocational for 5,000 young people from Oyo – Minister

Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, said the federal government had approved the education of more than 5,000 young people in the state for other vocations.

Dare said this was his stopover at Ibadanland’s Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, at his Popoyemoja Palace in Ibadan.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) that Dare visited the monarch to congratulate him on his 92nd birthday.

The minister also stated that there is a walking order for contractors driving on federal government roads in Oyo state to return to the site.

Dare, who noted that the COVID-19 pandemic had affected the programs established by the federal government, said, however, that they had now begun to be painted in other sectors of the economy.

“I would like to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for giving me the opportunity to serve in his closet from my beloved state, the state of Oyo.

“Lord, because of COVID-19, all of our president’s established systems have been shut down. But for more than 3 weeks, he’s been approving the systems.

“If you remember, when I became a minister, you sent me other young people looking for work, but they gave us permission to exercise another 5,000 young people in the state.

“I need the palace to designate to serve as a liaison to my workplace and myself to carry out the program,” he said.

Dare added that it had also been approved to begin painting Saki’s water paintings as a result of Mr. Adebayo Shittu, the outgoing communications minister.

The minister, who apologized for visiting the monarch since he was appointed minister, congratulated Olubadan on his 92nd birthday and asked for a long and healthy life. (NAN)
