Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale shows the fashion hypercar

The number of delays and cancellations related to the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow, and this time it is Ferrari who disconnects.

The Italian logo has made it official: its first plug-in hybrid supercar, the SF90 Stradale, will not be presented in the first part of 2020 as planned. Seeing that we’re already approaching mid-August, it seemed unlikely at this point anyway.

CEO Louis Camilleri delivered the news earlier this week during Ferrari’s second-quarter earnings call, which included a revised sales forecast and other tweaks to Ferrari’s upcoming financials amid the pandemic. Rather than the first half of this year, the company expects first deliveries to start in the fourth quarter of 2020. Europe will receive the first cars and the US will be about two months after that.

Ferrari showed the delay with Roadshow declined to comment further.

The SF90 Stradale is Ferrari’s toughest car to date with 986 horsepower, thanks to a mix of a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine and 3 electric motors. Camilleri called the powertrain a “complex beast” and noted that some of the parts are behind due to the cracks in the source chain.

Meanwhile, Ferrari still has things to show us this year. We will see two new models presented at the time of this year. Honestly, some new Ferraris can make 2020 a little better.
