August 5 (UPI) – Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday punished President Donald Trump for messages, saying they contained false statements about the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This video includes false statements that a other people’s organization is immune to COVID-19, which is a violation of our destructive COVID disinformation policies,” Facebook rep Andy Stone said.
In June, Facebook got rid of additions to the trump crusade that included a red triangle backwards, which the Anti-Defamation League said similar to what the Nazis used for political prisoners, saying it violated their anti-organized hate policy.
Twitter said Wednesday that it restricts access to Trump’s re-election crusade account by posting a tweet of the video.
“The account owner will have to delete the tweet before he can tweet again,” he said.
Trump deleted the tweet and collected his tweets.
Last month, the Commerce Department asked the Federal Communications Commission to extend plans to social media platforms after Trump signed an executive order on the factor in May.
