Basketball enthusiasts are gearing up for the start of the FIBA Asia Cup 2022. The quadrennial tournament is scheduled to take place in the city of Jakarta, Indonesia. It was originally scheduled for 2021, but because the Olympics will take place that year. after postponements due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed until 2022. Many exciting basketball events will take place from July 12, 2022 to July 24, 2022.
The FIBA Asia Cup 2022 will feature the participation of national basketball groups from the Asia and Oceania regions. There are 16 teams competing for the name and the festival will be harder than ever. Australia are the defending champions heading into the tournament and I hope to keep the name when the ball starts rolling.
India is among those who have never won the tournament before and hope to do so when they take up position in Indonesia at the end of July. The FIBA Asia Cup will also serve as a showcase of what Asia has to offer. It will feature several talented hoops for continental basketball fans. As the prestigious tournament draws closer, here’s what’s in store for viewers:

This organization is composed of Australia, the current champion, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The Australians are obviously the favourites to win the organising and head straight to the quarters, while the festival for the other puts will be intense.
Chinese Taipei, China, South Korea and Bahrain make up the group. China are the all-time Asian Cup winner with 16 wins, making them favourites to finish as the most sensible team. South Korea and Chinese Taipei will also be favorites.
Group C is made up of Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan and Syria. As for the favourites to qualify, Iran’s national team will be sure to secure first place. However, there will be a strong Festival of Japan for the group’s most sensitive venue.
The Indian team is in Group D and will face chances. To get out of the group, you will have to fend off the festival in Lebanon, the Philippines and New Zealand. Ocean country New Zealand will be the favourite to qualify for the quarter-finals unless there is massive turmoil waiting to happen.
As mentioned, India has never won the FIBA Asian Cup, formerly known as the FIBA Asian Championship. It is also the team with the lowest ranking in Group D, so the chances are high, but there is still promise. The Indian team expected to come in fourth place in 1975, which maintained the country’s most productive functionality in the continental center.
Vishesh Bhriguvanshi will be one of the other key people when India takes the stage at the FIBA Asian Cup 2022 in Indonesia. He has been part of the Indian team for over a decade and is one of the country’s trained basketball players. Over the years, he has participated in five Asian Cups and will make his sixth appearance in 2022.
Head coach Veselin Matic hopes Bhriguvanshi can motivate the rest of the tournament and lead by example.
