Cairo: Egypt today began imposing a ban on access to foreigners who do not have documents proving that they have tested negative for the new coronavirus before coming to the country.Authorities announced last week that the PCR verification of coronavirus is mandatory to enter Egypt.The civil aviation government has said that the restriction is limited to the arrivals of foreigners.
According to Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli’s decree, all who arrive in Egypt by land, sea and air must submit documents proving that they tested negative for the coronavirus no more than 72 hours before their arrival.
Arab and foreign tourists traveling nonstop to the Egyptian beach of Sharm Al Sheikh, Taba, Hurghada, Marsa Allam and Matruh are exempt.
However, tourists are prohibited from traveling to other parts of Egypt unless they have documentation proving that they have lost the virus 72 hours before traveling within the country.
