England Portugal returns to quarantine list by coronavirus

LONDON (Reuters) – Portugal, the eternal favorite of British tourists, is back among the countries from which travelers will have to quarantine when they enter England, less than a month after being included in the safety list.

British Transport Minister Grant Shapps said Thursday that upon arriving in England from Portugal, with the exception of the Azores and Madeira, after four a. m. on Saturday, he will have to isolate himself for four days.

Shapps said the resolution followed a number of coVID-19 infection data.

Hungary, French Polynesia and Reunion were also removed from the safe list in England, but Sweden was added.

Earlier this week, seven Greek islands were added to England’s quarantine list.

Britain’s constituent nations have other quarantine policies. Portugal was included on the quarantine lists in Wales and Scotland before this month.
