(RTTNews) – France’s employment rate dropped dramatically this quarter to its lowest point since early 2017, as the blockade to involve the spread of coronavirus slowed down the creation of tasks, according to Statistics Insee said on Thursday.
The employment rate fell 1.6 numbers to 64.4% this quarter, the lowest since 2017. Youth employment fell from 2.9 numbers to 26.6%, the lowest since the record titles began in 1975.
At the same time, the unemployment rate also fell in the last quarter, the lowest since 1983, while the number of other people looking for paints declined during the employer closing period, INSEE reports.
The unemployment rate fell to 7.1% at the time of the quarter from 7.8% in the first quarter. It is the lowest since the last quarter of 1983, when 7 matched the penny.
