Elissa after being criticized for protecting Alaa Abdel-Fattah clarifies the reason

Lebanese singer Elissa apologized Saturday for her false impression of the Alaa Abdel-Fattah case.

In a phone interview with MBC Masr’s “al-Hekaya” (the story) program, he said he tweeted in defense of Abdel-Fattah “because I think he was Lebanese,” stressing: “I will have to not interfere with anything that is non-Lebanese.

“I Egypt, my country and my love for Egypt is great, and I make investments in Egypt, and what happened was a misunderstanding. “

She continued, “Egypt and its other people are a red line, and I’m proud of the Egyptian president, and I can’t pass in Egypt, and all my songs are Egyptian, and I wish I had conveyed to other people that what happened was a misunderstanding.

Elissa unleashed a wave of complaints after asking for a tweet about a sit-in outside the British embassy in Beirut that failed to facilitate the release of Alaa Abdel-Fattah.

In response, a hashtag saying Elissa is welcome in Egypt went viral on Twitter, coinciding with the announcement of her concert in Egypt on November 18.

The Lebanese singer deleted the tweet and posted it in which she praised Egypt’s COP27 organization.
