Welcome to the October 2022 issue of Electric Vehicle [EV] corporate news.

October saw a historic result with sales of plug-in electric cars in September 2022 surpassing one million for the first time!Everywhere, records continue to be broken. In September 2022, sales of electric car add-ons set a new record, and we also recorded a record result for sales of electric car add-ons in China. What a month!

In October, the U. S. government took over the U. S. government. The U. S. Department of Agriculture awarded $2800 million in grants to help build a battery supply chain in the United States. The EU also reached a provisional agreement to ban the sale of new diesel and petrol cars from 2035.

Global sales of plug-in electric cars ended September 2022 with a record 1,040,000 sales in the month, up 51% from September 2021, with a market share of 17% in September 2022 and 13% year-to-date.

Note: ~72% (not updated recently) of electric car sales so far this year are one hundred percent battery electric cars (BEVs), and the rest are hybrids.

Sales of plug-in electric cars in China reached a record high with more than 630,000 sales in September 2022, up 78% from September 2021 sales. China’s share of electric car market in September was 35% and 29% so far this year.

Sales of plug-in electric cars in Europe amounted to 250,000 in September 2022, up 7% from the previous year, reaching a market share of 24% and 21% so far this year. Norway achieved a percentage of 89%, Sweden 55% and Ireland 33%, the Netherlands 33%, Germany 32%, France 24% and the United Kingdom 22% in September 2022.
