Eight positive Indians for COVID-19 upon arrival in Singapore

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said thirteen imported cases of COVID-19 were reported on Sunday, 8 of which arrived from India on August 11 and the other five were from Bangladesh and the Philippines.

The other thirteen people received a 14-day ‘Home Stay Notice’ (SHN) in services committed to their arrival here, the Ministry of Health said.

Meanwhile, Singapore reported new cases of coronavirus on Monday, bringing the national total from COVID-19 to 56404.

The new instances come with seven imported instances and a case of network spaces involving a Singaporean citizen, the Ministry of Health said.

The total number of patients recovered from COVID-19 increased to 54,164 after 244 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, the ministry said.

The coronavirus has claimed 27 lives in the island nation.
