EL CAIRO – Egypt has presented new amenities for visitors on cairo’s outdoor plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Sphinx, the country’s most visited heritage site and the only wonder of the ancient world.
Developers opened a new restaurant, the Nine Pyramids Lounge, on Tuesday night, covering a 1,341-metre domain overlooking the pyramids of Giza. There will also be a fleet of new eco-friendly buses for tourists consultants on the plateau.
“One of the disorders we find is that other people say there are no special facilities for tourists, that there is no cafeteria, no restaurant, nothing that can be presented to visitors,” said Mostafa Waziri, secretary general of the Supreme Council. Antiquities.
The new amenities are easy to integrate and reassemble to turn into antiques and Waziri said the outdoor dining spot features “a panoramic view that can’t be matched anywhere else in the world. “
Tourism accounts for up to 15% of Egypt’s domestic production, however, officials have said in the past that the sector is wasting about $1 billion each month after being largely closed for several months as of March due to the spread of coronavirus.
The settings on the plateau are part of broader efforts to expand the country’s main tourist sites. Next year, the Great Egyptian Museum, which is expected to be the largest archaeological museum in the world, will open its doors beyond the pyramids of Giza.
Egyptian business tycoon Naguib Sawiris, the plateau’s main expander, said the allocation component of 301 million Egyptian pounds ($19. 23 million) of a larger plan to expand the UNESCO World Heritage site and streamline the tourist experience.
“We will organize the sellers,” Sawiris said.
