Egypt has added improvements to its historical tourist sites in the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx by opening a new place to eat and presenting a fleet of electric buses amid the coronavirus pandemic that has reduced the country’s tourism levels, Reuters reported.
According to a world travel and tourism council report published in June, of all African countries, Egypt accounted for the majority of tourism-related contributions to the region’s GDP, totaling around $29. 5 billion in 2019. So it’s no surprise that the country has begun reporting monthly losses of about $1 billion after coronavirus-related closures in March, according to a Reuters report.
Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the place to eat nine Pyramids Lounges, a component of the country’s efforts to expand around the well-known tourist site, officially opened on October 20.
