Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has suspended Air India Express flights until October 2 for allegedly bringing positive COVID-certified passengers twice in the past two weeks, senior government officials said Friday.
According to UAE government rules, each passenger travelling from India must bring an original negative COVID certificate of RT-PCR verification conducted 96 hours prior to travel.
“A passenger, who had a positive COVID certificate dated September 2, traveled on Air India Express’ Jaipur-Dubai flight on September 4. An incident occurred with a passenger on one of the airline’s other flights in Dubai before,” said one. officials.
As a result, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority suspended Air India Express flights from September 18 to October 2, he said.
The two coVID-certified passenger incidents to Dubai from India on Air India Express flights occurred in the last two weeks, authorities said.
When asked about this, Air India Express said it aimed to reduce passenger difficulties and planned to operate its 4 flights from Dubai, which is scheduled to operate from India on Friday, to Sharjah.
