According to UAE government rules, each passenger travelling from India must bring the original negative COVID certificate of RT-PCR verification conducted 96 hours prior to travel.
“A passenger, who had a COVID certificate dated September 2, traveled on Air India Express’ Jaipur-Dubai flight on September 4.
“An incident had previously occurred with a passenger on one of the airline’s other flights in Dubai,” one of the officials said.
As a result, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority suspended Air India Express flights from September 18 to October 2, it said.
The two incidents of passengers traveling with COVID certification to Dubai from India on Air India Express flights occurred in the past two weeks, authorities said.
When asked about this, Air India Express said it aimed to reduce passenger difficulties and planned to operate its 4 flights from Dubai, which is scheduled to operate from India on Friday, to Sharjah.
