Dubai new restrictions to curb coronavirus infections

The Dubai government is imposing stricter restrictions on nightlife in an effort to curb the coronavirus in the city.

The Associated Press reported Monday that all bars and clubs in the city had been ordered to avoid “entertainment activities” at 1 a. m.

Restrictions are notable adjustments in a city known as an extravagant tourist destination, attracting an average of 15 million foreigners to the city according to the year, making it the fourth most visited city in the world.

Dubai’s most recent restrictions aim to prevent COVID-19, which has noticed a resurgence at UAE borders in recent weeks after falling since peaks last May.

Bars and institutions that forget about the new restrictions will face closures or heavy fines, according to AP.

The country now reports about 1,000 new virus cases a day after seeing the rate drop in June and July. The country now has just over 92,000 cases of viruses and 413 pandemic deaths, according to knowledge compiled through Johns Hopkins University.
