PanARMENIAN.Net – Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the first in the world to deploy a K-9 unit designed to trip into cases of coronavirus in the midst of the global fitness crisis, and dogs have conducted more than 400 tests in recent weeks with an accuracy of 91%, Fox News reports.
The world’s most active foreign center sent the K-9 unit for a quick Covid-19 test before this month, SF Gate reports.All people arriving in the United Arab Emirates will need to be screened for viral diseases prior to departure and have evidence of negative access results.
In addition, Gulf News reported Wednesday that the Dubai Police K-9 unit has conducted 400 tests in the last 3 weeks of the trial, with an overall “impressive” accuracy of 91%.
In partnership with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), “potentially infected passengers” traveling through DXB enter a designated test domain to give an odor pattern in an armpit sample, according to TravelPulse.From there, trained dogs are presented with patterns in another remote room, smelling the smells of the frame through a funnel-like device.
If the dog detects what could be Covid-19, the passenger, who left waiting a few minutes, is asked to undergo a nasal PCR test, according to SFGate.
