MINSK, Oct 24 (BelTA) – The draft amendment to Belarus’ Electoral Code has been subject to public debate, BelTA has learned.
The draft law on amendments to the Electoral Code of Belarus can be found on the online page of the Legal Forum of Belarus.
“The public debate will take place from October 24 to November 2,” said Andrei Matelsky, director of the National Center for Legal Information. “The organizers of the public debate will summarize the proposals on the content of the invoice and use them in the development. of the invoice”.
The aim of the draft law is to harmonize the rules of the electoral law with the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, as well as with its provisions, taking into account the practice of its application.
A separate segment will be added to the Electoral Code, which will be the procedure for electing delegates to the People’s Congress of Belarus from among local councils of deputies and civil society.
As of the next single voting day, the bill adjusts the formula of the electoral commissions.
The bill also includes criteria that reflect the enjoyment of election campaigns.
The organizer of the public debate is the National Centre for Legislation and Legal Studies.
