Pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s, which is preparing a Covid-19 vaccine, says it has been attacked by a cyberattack.
Sites around the world have been affected, adding to those in the United Kingdom, Brazil, India, Russia and the United States.
The Indian-based company said it had turned away all its means of knowledge to involve the attack.
Last week, Dr. Reddy began the latest trials of the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine.
The company refused to say that its production services were affected or not.
Phone lines at the company’s UK sites in Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire appear to be down, but the company has said if this is related.
Chief Information Director Mukesh Rathi said: “After a detected cyberattack, we have taken everyone away from the knowledge center to take the mandatory preventive measures.
“We expect all facilities to be available within 24 hours and do not anticipate that any primary effects will have an effect on our operations as a result of this incident. “
In India, the media reported that production at some of Dr. Reddy’s services had stopped.
Dr. Reddy’s, founded in 1986 and based in Hyderabad, now develops and manufactures more than two hundred products covering gastroenterology, oncology, pain control and cardiovascular disease.
In the UK, Dr Reddy’s is an NHS drug supplier based in Beverley, Yorkshire.
Last week, he announced that the Russian company and sovereign fund had obtained approval from the Comptroller General of Medicines of India (DCGI) for a human trial of the Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine in India.
